Biographix Development Services: Collaborative Development Environments

business
The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) is a non-profit, non-partisan, charitable organization with the aim to identify, and help impart, the fundamental concepts of economics, enterprise, entrepreneurship and personal finance that must be factored into the decisions and actions people face in their day-to-day lives.

challenge
As entrepreneurship education and training efforts have evolved throughout Canada, it has become increasingly apparent that there is a need to effectively link those who are involved in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs at all levels. The evolution of technology has generated an opportunity to create a web-site that can fulfill this need and enable those who are involved in, or interested in becoming involved in, entrepreneurship and enterprise education. They can get to know who is involved, what they are doing, what they are planning to do, and to incorporate this knowledge with the goal of designing better programs to achieved improved results.

solution
The solution was D3E.org. It has been developed to serve as an international forum for educators, trainers and practitioners to work together to discuss, design, and develop entrepreneurship and enterprise education and training programs. This site has been developed by a group of organizations working in Canada in the area of entrepreneurship and enterprise education and training. The site has both private and public sections. The "private" site enables those in the "management committee" to collaborate, communicate, conference and share valued information that will enable all partners to strengthen and improve existing and future programs. The "public" section allows access to information contained in selected documents, reports, research studies, etc. and will be able to provide feedback and recommendations. Through the public site, people from various organizations and programs are able to "chat" with one another and share valued information that will contribute to improved program outcomes and success.
